« girl » I'm a 22 year old gal named Alexis, living in New York City and working as a professional temp worker looking for permanent work before going to law school. I have a puppy named Fitzroy, which was the surname given to all the bastard children of the king. I grew up in Phoenix and never want to live there again if I can help it. I love making lists, writing in my journal, reading anything I can get my hands on, watching movies that don't suck, and taking photos of everywhere I go. This site is like a digital scrapbook instead of your run-of-the-mill personal blog. It's more for me to keep track of the disorganized, minefield of my mind than to let strangers know what's going on in my life, which is insufferably boring anyway. « site » alexablair.com is hosted by 1&1 Internet, Inc.. I use Movable Type for my main blog, PixelPost for my photoblog, and a PowerBook G4 as my computer. To design the site I use Adobe Photoshop CS, BBEdit, Transmit, Thumbscrew and Firefox. Brushes come from Angelic Trust, Echoica Brushes and (the now defunct) Rebel Heart. «name» Alexablair is a nickname I got between high school and college while I was in the midst of "changing" my name. I hated my first name (I'm still not totally in love with it), Alexis, but liked my more unusual middle name Blair. My high school friends, having trouble making the transition from Alexis to Blair, coined the name Alexablair. « links/inspiration » reinyday.com - Rachel's site was the first domain I ever saw that wasn't the normal, run-of-the-mill personal blog. I love her list of lists, and I'll be the first to admit I borrow from her site configuration. triplux.com - I don't even remember how I found Matthew's site, but I don't know how I ever survived without it. He's a movie buff and his site really gave me the idea to put a list of movies with my own ratings up. He's also the creator of the 101 things to do in 1001 days project. intensify.org - Very cool site design, and also a bunch of movie and book reviews. Want more links? Go to my del.icio.us page. |
